Build quality is outstanding and it assembled in about 30 minutes. It's better to have two people lift the unit into the stand as it's cumbersome and a bit heavy. I was under the impression that the electric starter was included, but the doc stated that it wasn't, no big deal.
I have had issues with other (non-Kamodo) smokers due to the affect of wind in my backyard on the temperature. I followed the directions for setting the vents and easily established a 225-250 degree temperature in no time. As a matter of fact, it held that temperature for 12 hours on a single bag of coals. The Visions Kamado is outstanding and I can't wait to use it again.
If you're going to smoke with it, I highly recommend purchasing the round stone accessory so that you can keep the flames from hitting your food. The indirect heart/low temperature is the key.
