Low Cost - Great Value

I plugged this bench grinder in and was pleasantly surprised. It was quiet, and had none of the expected vibrations. If I was more than 4 feet away, I had to check to see if it was running. I still have not bolted it down, no need. My first project was smoothing the sharp edges on some AR500 plate. It did the job, and the wheels were no worse for wear when I was done. Best investment I've made in years. At $39.99 this is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BUY.
Pros: quiet stable great buy.
Cons: 6" grinding wheels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this unit because all the others around town were priced from $100 to $175 dollars. I stopped in my True Value and found this on the shelf for $39.99. At that price I did not expect very much. When I first turned it on it did take about 15-20 seconds to spin up to speed.. At speed it ran quiet with NO Vibrations I put a piece of 1" x 1" x 1/4" angle iron on it to grind the end to a point for a stake. It held it's speed very well, and the original grinding wheels did there jobs. This grinder is a down right steal at this price, and I highly recommend it to any one in the market for one. (Note) The box stated 1/2 hp @ 1.5 amps, a 1/2 hp should draw at least 2 amps, but I see they corrected that on this site, stating 1/3 hp. ( This is still a GREAT DEAL!!)
Pros: price, it does operate better than expected., true value has a winner.
Cons: short warranty, questionable lifespan.
I would recommend this to a friend!
