I never had a reel mower before, only the usual type. Since I'm a renter and don't have too much to mow, I wanted to try one. I didn't want to deal with the gasoline or oil, and storage is limited where I live. Most important (being retired military) is staying in shape. This helps keep my arms in good shape, as well as overall physically.
One thing I didn't realize is, when you go backward, it doesn't cut. I wish the blades could go both ways. Sometimes I have to go over a path 2 or 3 times, but I don't mind. Still, I enjoy it and I'm sure my neighbors were surprised to see someone doing it the hard way! Ha! But it isn't hard at all!

Pros: very well made easy to use.
Cons: doesn't cut going backward.
