When the chips are down and the water is up

The pump is (was) 5 star quality. The captive vertical switch is outstanding. The Owner Manual is another matter.
I have an under the house garage. This is the latest in a series of pumps that I have tried from True Value. It worked fine for at least 2 years, then the impeller lost a vane. I ordered 2 (always have a spare!) using the part number in the manual. The replacement does not generate enough pressure to open the check valve, and my garage floods into the basement. This has cost a lot of losses - I have two classic motorcycles, other goodies in the garage and when the water rises enough to enter the basement, as it has tonight, ...
When I looked at the old impeller, I found that it had larger vanes and a different part number than the recommended part in the manual. So, I reordered the part, over a month ago, and it has yet to surface. The paper work got buried, apologies, reordered. The paper work got lost, apologies, reordered. I am still waiting as the water rises. Tonight I removed the check valve so that the water might go through, and this works, except than when the sump empties, the water in the discharge pipe returns to the sump starting the action over. I am a healthy 75 year old man, but I can't take much more of this!
Pros: a great pump out of the box, a great local dealer, really good service locally
I would recommend this to a friend!
