Old Master Plumber 1/2 HP Unit Earned Its Keep.

I purchased my home 12 years ago and learned that the sump pump was just replaced because the prior unit (different brand) had failed. and the basement flooded (house was empty). I didn't know the brand of my pump until I pulled it out of the pit this year and scraped the crud off of it and found it was the 1/2 HP Master Plumber unit. My basement sump pit (during heavy prolonged rain) becomes like a waterfall with the pump cycling off for only about 10 seconds and this water volume can last for 24 hrs after the rain stops. About 6 years ago, I added a second pump (1/3 HP Zoeller) higher up in the sump pit as a BU. This summer I figured the loyal Master Plumber unit was long overdue for replacement as the switch was getting iffy. I was originally tempted to buy a cheaper Zoeller but found the base footprint was larger than the MP. I ended up paying more for the MP unit but it slipped right in with little effort. I can only hope that this new unit is of similar quality and durability of the my old MP unit. I must say this unit is much quieter than the old unit which you could hear running from any room or floor of the house. With this new unit, I can barely hear it cycling when I'm on the first floor directly above the sump pit.
Pros: small footprint works great in smaller pits, proven durability, 1/2 hp motor
Cons: price is high
I would recommend this to a friend!
